Unifi UAP-LR (Long Range) is a MIMO b/g/n access point system that is scaleable to hundreds or thousands of units – and the software for managing the Unifi UAP-LR (Long Range) is free and downloadble from Ubiquiti. No expensive management software or hardware is required. The Unifi software can be installed on a PC or a MAC and allows the operator to instantly provision thousands of Unifi UAPs, map out networks, quickly manage system traffic, and further provision individual Unifi UAP devices.

Claimed throughput is up to 300Mbps speeds. The Unifi Long Range has a higher TX-Power than that of the Unifi UAP. The lower-power version of the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP is available.

The attractive design of the Unifi UAP-LR (Long Range) combines with out-of-the-box deployment, including wall/ceiling mount adaptor, a mains power supply and the Unifi Software Installation CD. Power and data are carried by the ethernet cable (PoE) that connects each Unifi UAP-LR (Long Range) to the network. Unifi unit MUST NOT be connected to a powered hub with a 48v supply – use the Ubiquiti Instant downconvertor, indoor or outdoor as appropriate.

At the front-centre of the Unifi UAP-LR is a status LED ring which can provide the administrator with location tracking and feedback for each device.

If you need an outdoor version of Unifi UAP-LR to extend your indoor network to outdoor areas, use the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP Outdoor, or you can use the PicoStation M2 HP and reflash it with the Unifi UAP software. Ubiquiti support and warranty units thus reflashed and PicoStations covering outdoor areas can usefully be added to the units managed by the control software.
