Designed for use with SATA drives, these aluminium caddies enable you to turn any 2.5-inch hard drive into an external USB2.0 connectable device. This is a great, affordable way to provide that extra storage required for all your media.
The device simply plugs into any USB port and will show up as a removable drive. If you have an old hard drive, why not get the most out of it by slipping it into an Egem enclosure?
This enclosure includes a screwdriver and is easily assembled by just unscrewing 2 screws and inserting any 2.5 inch hard drive.
Once the hard drive is inserted it will need to be formatted or you can format before it is put together.
This item is just the enclosure and does not come with a hard drive. Only a S-ATA 2.5 Inch hard drive will fit in this enclosure.
Instructions to format :-
Right click my computer.
Click manage.
Go to disk managment.
A popup should come up keep clicking next to initialise.
Finally right click the darker shaded drive and click format.
The enclosure is powered straight from USB, making it ideal for when power sockets are not around
